McLaren Celebrates Ayrton Senna With Unique Livery

In a heartfelt homage to Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna, McLaren’s MCL38 race car will feature a special ‘Senna Sempre’ livery at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix. This tribute comes 30 years after the tragic passing of the three-time World Champion, acknowledging his remarkable legacy and impact on the sport.

Ayrton Senna, widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history, had an illustrious career with McLaren from 1988 to 1993. During this period, he secured 41 race victories and three World Championships. In honor of his extraordinary contributions to the sport, McLaren has adorned their MCL38 race cars with a ‘Senna Sempre’ livery for the Monaco Grand Prix, a race where Senna’s talent shone brightly.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, expressed his sentiments, “The team is proud to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary life and racing legacy of Ayrton Senna through this McLaren livery. Senna remains revered and respected as Formula 1’s greatest icon, and McLaren’s most decorated driver.”

The ‘Senna Sempre’ livery draws inspiration from Senna’s vibrant personality and his exceptional performances at the Monaco Grand Prix, a venue where he achieved six victories, more than any other driver. This year, the livery will be showcased on the MCL38 cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, enhancing the emotional connection between Senna’s legacy and the current generation of drivers.

Additionally, McLaren has applied the commemorative livery to a pre-production version of their supercar named after the legendary driver — the McLaren Senna. This gesture not only celebrates Senna’s contributions to Formula 1 but also highlights his enduring influence on automotive design and performance.
