Launching the gastronomic extravaganza on September 29 at Dash Restaurant in Cape Town’s V&A Precinct, this promises to be a monthly rendezvous at different Newmark restaurants. What can you expect from this culinary circus, you ask? Well, the debut menu on September 29 is a 6-course spectacle featuring pepper-seared yellowfin tuna loin dancing with a glass of creamy Creation Viognier and slow fire-roasted beef brisket strutting alongside a peppery Boschendal Black Angus Red.


Chef Chris Erasmus, a culinary wizard who’s worked his magic in top-notch restaurants worldwide, spills the beans: “Since joining Newmark, I’ve been a mentor, but now I’m putting on my chef’s hat and cooking up dishes that I love. Get ready for classic ‘Chris-style’ with a dash of foraged ingredients and local produce.”


As for Marlvin Gwese, the maestro behind the wine curtain, he’s not your average sommelier. Having worked with big brands like Cape Grace and The Liz McGrath collection, he’s now Newmark’s Group Sommelier. According to Marlvin, “Chris and I have become foodie accomplices, planning this menu and pairing each course with unique Cape wine vintages. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill selections; they’re gems that showcase the variety and quality of the Cape’s fine wines.”
