Alan Wake 2 Shines Bright with New Update

In the world of gaming, there are moments when a masterpiece is born. And when it stumbles, the creators are quick to mend the flaws. Remedy Entertainment, the brilliant minds behind Alan Wake 2, have just dropped an update that will make players rejoice and horror-lovers shiver.

Alan Wake 2, born thirteen years after its predecessor, is already hailed as one of the best games of 2023. This masterpiece continues the story from where the original left off, introducing Saga Anderson, an FBI agent investigating a cultist murder in the eerie town of Bright Falls. Remedy Entertainment has delved into the world of survival horror, equipping players with an inventory system and nail-biting combat. The game introduces Saga’s investigation system, allowing players to piece together evidence along the way.

But even masterpieces need a touch-up. Less than two weeks after the launch, Remedy has rolled out a new update to address some glaring issues. Xbox players can now rejoice as the audio bug in the game’s opening prologue has been temporarily fixed. A permanent solution is in the works for future updates.

In addition to the audio fix, this update ensures that the Echo orb scene in the “Room 665” chapter aligns correctly. These Echoes unlock vital story dialogues, and Remedy has tackled this problem head-on. Moreover, a progress-halting bug in the “Local Girl” chapter, where a rather imposing mouse obstructed your path, is now history.

Though there are more bugs lurking in the shadows, it’s refreshing to see Remedy’s swift action in providing players with a smoother experience. As they continue to iron out these wrinkles throughout November, all eyes are on Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards. Could Alan Wake 2 snatch a Game of the Year nomination in this year filled with top-tier AAA game releases? Time will tell. In the realm of Alan Wake 2, darkness may loom, but Remedy Entertainment’s dedication shines through.

Update Notes:

PlayStation 5 (1.00.09)
Xbox Series (1.0.0.9)
PC (1.0.9)
(Xbox Series) – A workaround fix for the issue where the audio cut out intermittently in the Prologue. We are expecting a full fix for this issue in an upcoming update.

ROOM 665:

Fixed an issue (again) with the Echo scene not aligning and unlocking correctly (this was fixed in a previous update, but Echo hell still persisted).
LOCAL GIRL:

Fixed an issue with a mouse (with a big presence) blocking progress.
